This CNN article today reminded me that our second music director Frederick Stock has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 1547 Vine Street to be exact.

According to the Walk’s official history, Stock’s star — which includes the phonograph record icon for music and audio recording — would have been installed as part of the first batch of about 150 stars in 1960.

So even though the star was installed nearly twenty years after his death, I’m sure Papa Stock would have gotten a kick out of knowing he was in the company of the likes of Joanne Woodward, Burt Lancaster, and Stanley Kramer, among a few others.
